Our Team

Dr. Mariam Aslami grew up in Augusta, GA and graduated from Augusta University in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in biology. She attended Southern California College of Optometry and received a Doctor of Optometry degree in 2016. 

Dr. Aslami started her career working in an ophthalmology practice where she gained extensive experience performing medical eye exams, treating ocular pathology, post-operative care with ophthalmic surgeon, dry eye treatments, comprehensive visual analysis and retinal imaging diagnosis. 

Dr. Aslami is the founder of Modern Vue Eyecare.  She enjoys promoting eye health and wellness to her patients and also to the public. She uses her Instagram platform @themodernod to bring eyecare awareness to the public. Dr. Aslami speaks fluent English, Farsi and basic Spanish.

Dr. John Dzurenda grew up in Windsor, Connecticut, where an early interest in science and healthcare eventually led him to Fairleigh Dickinson University. He graduated with a BS in Biology before continuing on to the New England College of Optometry, earning his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1985. Shortly after graduating, Dr. Dzurenda returned to New Jersey and put down roots in Wayne, where he's been proud to serve the community ever since.

From the beginning, Dr. Dzurenda has focused on the clinical management of eye disease and the fitting of contact lenses, with an emphasis on thoughtful, individualized care. Over the years, he's built strong collaborative relationships with surgeons and specialists across Morris, Passaic, and Essex counties, ensuring his patients receive comprehensive, coordinated treatment when they need it most. Providing the highest level of personalized eyecare has always been at the heart of his work.

Outside the office, he enjoys the things that keep him grounded and inspired—family, music, travel, and a lifelong appreciation for cars. These interests remind him of the importance of curiosity, connection, and balance, both in life and in the care he provides.

Dr. Alana Padamadan is from Columbus, Ohio. She graduated with honors from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and then went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Her clinical training includes the specialties of ocular disease, contact lenses, pediatrics and binocular vision, and vision rehabilitation. 

Dr. Padamadan’s expertise is in comprehensive eye care, treating and managing ocular disease, and fitting contact lenses. She has practiced in Bergen County for over 10 years and has dedicated herself to providing high quality eye examinations to her patients.  

When she is not working, Dr. Padamadan enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as spending time outdoors and traveling.
